2025 Annual Appeal

Dear Friend,

As we approach the final weeks of 2025, we are grateful for the generosity that allows the Helen Kate Furness Free Library to bring lifelong learning, discovery, and joy to Nether Providence and Rose Valley.

This year, your support helped us serve over 38,000 visitors and offer 320 programs for children, teens, and adults. Some 2025 highlights:

• Cheese tastings and local history talks
• Yoga, storytimes, and Bollywood Dance in the park
• A Japanese Children’s Day celebration
• Teen service projects for a local animal shelter and a domestic abuse agency
• A growing Library of Things with 80+ items and 600+ checkouts
• Museum Passes borrowed 500+ times

Running the library costs about $515,000 each year. Government funding and our endowment cover 65% of the total. Donors like you make up the remaining 35%. Your generosity sustains our programs, collections, and welcoming spaces.

As we look toward 2026, we remain committed to our core values: a safe, inclusive, and inspiring place where everyone feels welcome and where curiosity, creativity, and community flourish.
